The Responsibility of Architecture

Recently I had the pleasure of participating in my first ever podcast. Sam Aquillano, Executive Director of Design Museum Everywhere asked me to be the guest co-host with him to discuss socially responsible architecture – a topic near and dear to my heart.. Sam and I have enjoyed many conversations over the years about design and architecture, although none have been caught “on tape”. Making this even more fun is that we had the opportunity to talk with Pascale Sablan, an amazing architect and winner of the 2021 Whitney M. Young Jr. Award, an award that is centered on socially responsible issues related to architecture. As a winner of the award, Pascale is automatically elevated to fellowship with the American Institute of Architects.

The Design Museum Everywhere team made this really easy and fun; kudos to Amor Yates who did an amazing job producing the segment. Everything about the experience was effortless and fun. What I enjoyed most is that this was a conversation; there weren’t multiple takes and nothing was scripted – everything came from the heart, the way it should be when talking about a topic such as this.

I hope you will have a listen and think about how you can impact others through design.

Thanks for listening,

David
