We live in a new era where being healthy one everyone’s mind. Being healthy does not just mean wearing a mask and hand washing. Being healthy also includes good nutrition as well as a well-balanced diet. Going out to restaurants at this time may not be on everyone “To do” list, but there is not reason why you shouldn’t be able to enjoy a freshly prepared meal at home. By cooking more, you can begin to understand what a typical portion of food per serving should be based on the recipes you are making. Learning portion control can save you money on food waste and save you from overeating.

For some people, being in the kitchen can be a very soothing escape from their day-to-day life tasks such as work and chores. Cooking can be a healthy escape to calm the mind.

Cooking is a science and sometimes specific things in a recipe cannot be altered, but most of the time certain ingredients can be substituted. Specific dietary or religious reasons may lead to someone altering a recipe to fit their needs or beliefs.

There is nothing better than being able to share the fun of preparing a meal with family and friends. Preparing meals can also be a family or holiday tradition that creates vital memories with loved ones.

There is no better feeling when you pull the final completed meal off the stove or out of the oven.  The smells that overwhelm the room fill you with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
