Brazil has a variety of scenes from cold cities with German roots in the southern states to amazing beaches with strong African influence in the northern states. Fun fact, two of our team members are Brazilian! The first destination is Balneario Camboriu, a city located in the state of Santa Catarina in the South of Brazil and Nathalia’s favorite destination in her country. The most prominent feature of the city is its large number of skyscrapers by the coast hosting the tallest twin-tower skyscraper in the country. An interesting fact is that these twin-towers called Yachthouse are designed by Pininfarina which is the same company responsible for the design of a hundred low-floor cars purchased from the Italian company AnsaldoBreda for the Green line in Boston.

Barbecue is a traditional dish in Brazil mainly in the southern states.

“If you have the chance of visit this side of Brazil, make sure you try the barbecue! This famous dish is a tradition among these states” – Nathalia

SALVADOR – BRAZIL- ANDY

Heading 1600 miles to the northeastern portion of the country we will find Andy’s favorite city in Brazil called Salvador. The city is the capital of the state of Bahia and it is known for its Portuguese colonial architecture and Afro-Brazilian culture. In Andy’s words its must sees are the Mercado Modelo, Sao Francisco Church and Pelourinho. All of them contain historic Portuguese architecture that makes this place unique.

NETHERLANDS – DAVID

Jumping from Brazil to The Netherlands David’s advice is to visit this beautiful place in April. “April is the best time to visit The Netherlands because you can visit their famous tulip fields. Felice and I rode bicycles through many fields of brightly colored tulips across the Dutch landscape” – David

It is a wonderful place to learn about the history of Ancestral Puebloan’s homes in the late era, as well as to enjoy beautiful landscape. They provide different levels of trails from easy to moderate. It is friendly to beginners and you won’t be missing out even if you took the easy routes” – Yingli
